
Fredric Beerstein, oboe instructor at California Lutheran University, is currently a member of the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic and the New West Symphony as well as the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra. Free-lance work includes recording at Warner Brothers Studios as well as chamber music performances. Teaching experience includes 17 seasons at the Summer Program of the Idyllwild Arts Academy, Ventura College, Operation Oboe and has a large private studio of students. His professional experience includes performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Aspen Festival Orchestra, the Aspen Chamber Symphony and Texas Festival Orchestra. Major teachers were William Criss, Allan Vogel, John Ellis, David Weiss and Salvatore Spano. Summer festival studies include John de Lancie, Richard Killmer, Phillip West, and Marion Gibson as teachers.
Fredric Beerstein has been teaching and performing oboe since the age of nineteen. He is both an accomplished musician and attentive, patient teacher.
